Mural Techniques: Faux Finishing & Landscapes
Step-by-step comprehensive course to create an exquisite and awe-inspiring mural in your home!
Welcome to my latest course, “Mural Techniques: Faux Finishing & Landscapes” . This in depth course is designed to teach you everything you need to know in order to create a beautiful mural or a trompe l’oeil painting to display in your home. Trompe l’oeil is a french word that means to “Deceive the eye” and this painting course is meant to do just that with this picturesque scene we are going to paint together. My name is Bre Tobias and I have been painting for over 15 years. I have studied art under a number of professional artists. I have studied many styles of art from various time periods and art movements. I also have a background in scene painting where I learned to create a number of faux finishing techniques for numerous theatrical productions.
In this course you will learn about color mixing, design, layout, faux finishing and painting techniques to create a gorgeous tuscan landscape scene framed by an old world style arched window. Tuscan murals and paintings are very a popular and beautiful addition to home interior design and they create a beautiful focal point in restaurants and other public places.
This course consists of over 2 hours of one on one video instruction where I show you each step in the process of creating this painting. I will walk you through the basics on how to get started, discuss the supplies in detail and help you through the entire painting from start to finish so that anyone can successfully complete this painting course and have a work of art worth showing off as a result.
This course is broken down into three comprehensive sections that focus on the following: Section one will consist an introduction to the course, supplies and their function, and the basic drawing, measuring and layout of the painting. Section two will focus on painting and sponging the wall area, drawing and painting cracks and faux bricks and painting and shading in the window frame. Section three will consist of painting a landscape scene. This painting is set in the hills of Italy’s Tuscany region. We will recreate the gorgeous landscape by painting the sky and clouds, hills, cypress trees, flowers and a quaint Tuscan villa to make you feel like you are almost peering out of a gracefully aged window to the countryside.
I am excited to bring you this course because it shows you just how easy it is to create a beautiful painting such as this one. With my step by step video course, you too can make your home into a work of art.
